Forever in Our Hearts: +Marko Niketic

Forever in Our Hearts: +Marko Niketic

With heavy hearts, but with hope and faith in Resurrection and Life Eternal, the Clergy, Executive Board, and the entire community of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral mourn the tragic loss of our dear member, +Marko Niketic, in a devastating car accident in Glenview, at the young age of 17.

+Marko was not only a beloved parishioner of our Cathedral; he was an integral part of our community, involved in our SOKO folklore group. His family, esteemed and respected within our community, has been an essential pillar of our Cathedral for many years.

As we reflect on the recent celebration of Easter in our Orthodox Church, we find comfort in our prayers to the Risen Lord for the salvation of Marko’s soul. We pray earnestly for comfort and strength for his grieving family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time.

Marko’s presence brought joy to our community, and his absence will be keenly felt. However, his memory will remain eternally cherished within our Cathedral family and in the hearts of all who knew him.

May the Resurrected Lord grant eternal rest to Marko’s soul and grant his family the strength to bear this heavy burden. We, the Clergy, Executive Board, and the entire community of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, stand united in support and love for the Niketic family and all those affected by this tragedy.

Together, let us find comfort in our faith and the unwavering support of our community as we navigate through this time of profound loss.

In deepest sympathy,

Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral
