I am Bonnie Vanoss and my christened name is Bosiljka Subaric. I am a graduate of Northern Illinois University.  I have a professional background in corporate training, sales and recruiting.

I grew up at Holy Resurrection and attended Sunday School, Serbian School and folklore dance as well.   I was married at Holy Resurrection and baptized both of my sons here.   They have served as altar boys and attended the Sunday School program. 

I have been teaching kindergarten and first grade Sunday School since 2017.  I love to teach the children the basics of our faith through coloring, crafts, videos, reading and interactive activities.  We learn about the Church, our holidays, some of our saints, why we do certain things, and what they mean. I hope to instill in them the mystery, love and basic knowledge of our faith, so they understand what makes us different and special.

Teaches 6th-8th grade. He has been teaching our older children for several years. He works in Information Technology. Both Alex and his wife are active members of our choir.

I am an Industrial Engineer, graduate from Perdue University. I grew up in this church and went through the Sunday School program here. I love children and get great pleasure from teaching the little ones respect and love for their Serbian Orthodox faith. I have been teaching Church School since 2011. Both of my daughters were actively involved in our Church School program in the past.

Fr. Nikolaj & I have five children, all of whom attend and thoroughly enjoy Church School and the other educational programs in our parish. I have a degree in Elementary Education and have enjoyed using it in Orthodox settings especially. Previously I was the Head Teacher of St. Sava Academy’s Preschool for the duration of two school years before becoming a stay-at-home mom upon having our fifth baby.

Having small children of my own at the moment, I realize on a daily basis how important it is to instill the proper values and principles of faith into their tiny hearts from the very beginning. It is an honor and blessing to have even 45 minutes once a week with our youngest church school students and watch them blossom in their faith and soak it in.  My goal is to keep the education for the little ones as hands-on as possible and have constant repetition and review so that the information taught really digs deep into their souls and hearts and begins the scaffold of their Orthodox foundation.
