Empowering Future Leaders: The Kolo Scholarship Program

The Circle of Serbian Sisters (Kolo) at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (HRSOC) has been a pillar of support for the community, upholding Orthodox faith, Serbian traditions, and contributing to various church projects. Continuing this legacy, Kolo is proud to announce the launch of its Scholarship Program, aimed at supporting young Serbian-American students in their pursuit of higher education.

Kolo was founded to promote Orthodox faith, preserve Serbian customs, and support the church community. Through hard work and fundraising, Kolo has played a crucial role in building HRSOC’s churches, halls, and kitchens.

The Circle of Serbian Sisters Scholarship Program (CSSSP) offers a one-time scholarship of $2500 to college students who have completed at least their first year and are active parishioners at HRSOC, with a mother or grandmother who is a Kolo member.

Application Process:
Interested students can find the application form on the Kolo website or at the HRSOC office. Along with the form, applicants must submit proof of college enrollment, confirmation of active parishioner status, and an essay detailing their academic achievements and career goals.

Supporting Future Leaders:
The CSSSP not only provides financial assistance but also encourages and empowers young scholars to uphold Orthodox faith and Serbian heritage while making positive contributions to society.

Deadline and Announcement:
Applications must be submitted by August 1, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified, and scholarship recipients will be announced during a special ceremony at HRSOC.

The Circle of Serbian Sisters Scholarship Program reflects Kolo’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Serbian-American leaders. Join us in preserving our traditions and supporting our youth. Apply today and be a part of shaping tomorrow’s leaders!
