Blessed Beyond Expectation: A Successful Luncheon for St. Sava Monastery

Blessed Beyond Expectation: A Successful Luncheon for St. Sava Monastery

The community gathered at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral this past Sunday, April 26, 2026, for a heart-warming and incredibly successful Fundraising Luncheon dedicated to the completion of the St. Mardarije Center.

We were honored to have His Grace Bishop Serafim preside over the Divine Liturgy. During the service, he delivered a moving sermon, and later, he provided a detailed presentation in the church hall regarding the progress and the vital goals for the completion of the St. Mardarije Center. With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Longin, Bishop Serafim is leading the efforts of this important project.

An Overwhelming Response of Faith

Thanks to the profound generosity of our parishioners and supporters, we are humbled to announce that we have surpassed our fundraising goal of $50,000, raising a total of $75,000. This milestone stands as a testament to the dedication of our community and the enduring legacy of St. Mardarije, who sacrificed so much to build a spiritual home for future generations. These funds will go directly toward the final stages of the St. Mardarije Center, ensuring his vision reaches fruition.

Celebrating Together

Despite many of our parents, children, and youth traveling to Canada for the folklore festival that weekend, we were blessed with a meaningful presence that truly showed the commitment of our parish family.

The atmosphere in the hall was filled with music and a sense of shared purpose. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and supported this vital cause.

A special thank you to the talented performers who made the afternoon truly memorable, including the SSS Branko Radichevich, our Cathedral choir, as well as the Brankici children’s choir, both directed by Jelena Stojakovic. We were also honored to feature the beautiful musical contributions of Dr. Dejan Glisovic on guitar and Marija Bubanja on violin, whose performances added a wonderful touch to the gathering.

We are especially grateful to the SSS Branko Radichevich for their extraordinary support; during the event, Denise Trylovich, President of the Choir Board, presented a generous $5,000 donation to His Grace Bishop Serafim on behalf of the choir for the monastery project.

Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Milan, also known as “Krle27” of 27 Photography, for capturing the spirit of the day through his wonderful photography. You can view his photos from the event here: https://twentysevenphotography27.pixieset.com.

Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to this success. Your faith, love, and generosity are building a lasting legacy for our church and community.
