Every Step Together Matters: Third Annual Marko Niketić Foundation 5K Walk Draws More Than 370

On Sunday, October 18, more than 370 registered participants gathered for the third annual Marko Niketić Foundation 5K Walk — a beautiful show of love, unity, and support. Supporters of all ages took part, with an especially strong turnout of young people and families with small children, all coming together in Marko’s memory.

More than a walk

The 5K is about far more than the distance. It is a community standing together to honor Marko’s life and carry his legacy forward. Every step represents love for Marko, support for his family, and a shared commitment to making a difference in his name.

Youth-led from the start

The walk began as a project of our Cathedral Youth Group. Youth member Anja Majstorović reflected on how far it has come:

“Three years ago, our Youth Group was inspired to organize an event to raise awareness and support for the Marko Niketić Foundation. What began as a youth-led initiative has grown into an annual event and a beautiful outpouring of love and support from our entire Cathedral family and friends throughout our surrounding communities.”

With gratitude

We extend heartfelt thanks to the sponsors and donors whose generosity makes this event possible and so meaningful.

We are humbled to support the Marko Niketić Foundation and to help carry Marko’s legacy of kindness forward in the communities that meant so much to him. This year’s proceeds will benefit our Cathedral, and we were deeply moved by the Niketić family’s announcement that they will match the funds raised through the event. We sincerely thank the family for their extraordinary generosity and continued commitment to our community.

Together, we honor Marko’s memory, celebrate the strength of our community, and ensure that his legacy of kindness continues — one step at a time.
