As summer gives way to the routines of autumn, our parish community came together in joyful thanksgiving to welcome the start of a new academic year.
This past Sunday, during the Divine Liturgy, our clergy and faithful offered special prayers for all our children, parents, and teachers as they embark on this new school season. We prayed for wisdom, patience, strength, and joy—asking the Lord to enlighten young minds, protect their hearts, and grant courage and discernment to the educators and parents who guide them each day.
Following the Divine Liturgy, our clergy offered a special blessing over each child, sprinkling them with holy water as they received blessed nafora. Seeing the smiles and bright faces of our youth gathered before the altar was a moving reminder of the vibrant future of our Church and community.
Growing in Faith and Fellowship
The education of our youth extends far beyond the classroom walls. Here at the Cathedral, we are blessed to offer a wide variety of youth programs, ministries, and activities designed to nurture spiritual growth, inspire service, and foster genuine Orthodox Christian fellowship.
We encourage all our families to get involved. These programs offer our young people the chance to:
- Grow in Faith: Deepen their understanding of the Orthodox faith, Scripture, and the life of the Church.
- Build Lasting Friendships: Connect with peers who share the same values and Christian foundation.
- Walk with Christ: Learn how to live out their faith with courage, kindness, and love in an ever-changing world.
