On the eve of the glorious Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord, our Cathedral community gathered prayerfully and joyfully to celebrate Badnje Veče—the sacred Orthodox Christmas Eve.
The evening began with the Blessing of the Badnjak, a cherished tradition that prepares our hearts for the coming of Christ and recalls the humility of His birth. This was followed by the Great Compline at 7:00 PM, filling the church with solemn prayer, hymnography, and quiet expectation.
Later in the evening, the faithful returned for Matins at 10:00 PM, as we continued our vigil in anticipation of the joy of Christmas. United in prayer, candlelight, and ancient tradition, our community entered deeply into the mystery of the Incarnation.
May the light of Christ, born in Bethlehem, be born anew in all our hearts.
