Blessed Holy Father’s Day

Blessed Holy Father’s Day

Today our Cathedral community prayerfully and joyfully celebrated Holy Father’s Day, known in Serbian tradition as “Oci.” On this beautiful Sunday dedicated to fathers and spiritual fatherhood, we extend heartfelt blessings and gratitude to all fathers—may the Lord grant them health, strength, wisdom, and peace.

As part of our preparation for the Feast of the Nativity of Christ, the clergy and our children joyfully brought the badnjakinto the Cathedral, continuing a cherished Orthodox tradition that calls us to readiness, humility, and joy before Christmas.

We offer our sincere thanks to Draža Grčić and his family for cutting and preparing the badnjak for our Cathedral this year. We are also grateful to our young parishioners—Dušan Grčić, Nemanja Rnić, Andrej Lukić, Nikola Čičić, and Luka Babić—who reverently carried the badnjak into the holy temple.

May this sacred tradition strengthen our families and prepare our hearts to welcome Christ, who is born for our salvation. God grant you many years!
