On Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, a presentation was held of the book by Bishop Grigorije entitled “Heavenly Courtyards”. The speakers were Fr. Darko Spasojevic, Deacon Jovan Anicic and the author himself, Bishop Grigorije. Fr. Darko offered an introduction to the understanding of a literary work in general, emphasizing that a work goes on living even after its author, being open to various interpretations depending on the reader’s own self-understanding. Deacon Jovan read several passages from the Bishop’s book and concluded that it reveals to us the many trials the main character meets along his life’s path, traveling through life both bodily and spiritually. Bishop Grigorije, as the author, told those present what his main motives and inspiration were in writing this book, explaining that the book gives the reader the message that even when it seems that all is lost, hope nevertheless remains.
