Happy 100th Birthday to Anka Dragisich!

Happy 100th Birthday to Anka Dragisich!

The Circle of Serbian Sisters and Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral wishes to congratulate our sister and longtime parishioner Anka Dragisich on the monumental occasion of her Centennial birthday.

Anka was born on Badnji Dan, January 6, 1923, in Zagrovic, near Knin.

A deeply religious woman who was faithfully in church every Sunday until her health prevented her from attending weekly liturgy.

She met her husband Djuro when she was visiting her uncle in Pennsylvania and they decided to marry and settled in Bellwood, Illinois.  They came to Holy Resurrection in 1963.

Anka was a Kolo member who helped in our kitchen during the 70’s with her Bellwood girlfriends and served on the Kolo audit board one year.

+Djuro and Anka have one daughter Vera, who learned from her parent’s example and served for many years on both our church and kolo boards as well as the Chetnik kolo and the Movement of Serbian Chetniks Ravne Gore.

On this occasion of her 100th birthday, the members of the Circle of Serbian Sisters and Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral wish our sister Anka a resounding “Happy Birthday!”, with our prayers for many more years of good health and happiness.
